Biography

My love of music began at the age of five, with Piano Lessons. Ten years later, my focus shifted to vocal music. I sang for my church choir and all solo, school, or community musical theater productions available. My love of vocal performance led me to a Bachelor Degree in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Oklahoma. I attended the prestigious American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, and was selected to sing for world renowned Mezzo-Soprano Marilyn Horne.

Through my school years, I continued to perform in concerts, musical theater and opera. Between 1996 and 2003, I was featured in three concerts and five musical theater or opera productions; La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, and the Choruses of Pirates of Penzance, La Boheme, The Elixir of Love and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat all in the United States of America; American Music Recital in England and Giuseppe Verdi Celebration in Austria. Between 2003 and 2008, I was a Lay Sister in Suor Angelica, Annina in La Traviata, a member of Classic Act Choral Ensemble, and gave recitals featuring Art Songs, Religious Solo and Choral Music and Spirituals all in Chicagoland. In 2009, I spent the year studying with Osceola Davis, a Metropolitan Opera soloist. Also I performed in I Paliacci in Pennsylvania, and La Boheme in New York.

In January 2010, I returned to Chicago to perform, study and teach. In 2010, I was featured in a concert of Romantic Music and sang the choruses for Blue Monday, by Gershwin, and Pagliacci.
